Arturo Hernández Alcázar

Studied Visual Arts and was Graduated from La Esmeralda, Mexico City (1996-2001) and participated in diverse seminars at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at UNAM (1996-1998) and Centro de la Imagen (2003). He has collaborated, organized and exhibited at independent spaces and projects such as Casa Emergente (Cuernavaca), Laalvaca, Noordkaap Werkstaat (Dordrecht, Netherlands), Ignacio Mejía (Paris), Temporary Home (Kassel), Archivo en Proceso (Mexico), Bordermates (Uruguay-Mexico), Dusseldorf Academy and Am_Phoenix, Berlín. His work has been shown in museums and galleries internationally among which are the 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, 10th International Istanbul Biennial, MUAC UNAM México, San Francisco Art Institute, Fine Arts Museum of Boston, Museo Amparo in Puebla, Musée d'Art Moderne of París, Museo de Arte Moderno (México), Vadehra Art Gallery (New Dehli, India), Galería Le Laboratoire and at the Galería Marso in Mexico City.
The nature of his work requires to destroyed itself, atomized, canceled, dissolved or returned to economic circulation. Copper, smoke, smoked black pigment, iron, files, papers, coins, rocks and fallen buildings form part of his work in constant transformation, circulation and research.
He’s member of the Sommerakademie organized by the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Switzerland since 2012, he also was the resident artist at the Cité des Arts in Paris and received the scholarship in Free Management granted by Fonca-CONACYT to develop the specific site Project Bauschut in Berlin, Germany, all in 2012. In 2006 won the Young Artists FONCA scholarship and was invited to the first residence for artists at the Noordkaap Foundation, Netherlands, supported by the Fund for Special Projects FONCA. He lives and works in Mexico City.
